This was such a great read! You really nailed how simple acts of praise can mean so much.
But I also think that a lot of people aren’t actually ignorant—they genuinely want to appreciate others but hold back out of fear, worrying they’ll come off as creepy or overbearing. It’s sad because heartfelt praise should never be mistaken for anything weird, but unfortunately, overthinking ruins it for many. (And to be honest, I don’t know about ‘a lot of people’—I was really talking about myself.)
Anyway, I really enjoyed this post, and all I wanna say is that this post is the last slice of pizza I was too shy to take but secretly wanted the most. And yeaa that's it. 😂
welcome back Ritwik! this was a really important post, being genuine with your comments go a long way, even if it's just acknowledging the techniques you used or a point you make! that's how you make real connections with people.
Great to have you back! I completely agree—genuine praise can brighten someone's day. But, it’s important to keep it authentic and not overdo it, as excessive flattery can come across as insincere.
This post was a banger, like always. I really love your recent essays which are more unhinged and casual, and allow us to connect with you on a deeper level. True, praising costs nothing, but means the world to the other person. They feel worthy and appreciated. I am not saying that we should give false praises, but when the person deserves praise, then why not?.
RITWIK WELCOME BACK ON YOUR OFFICIAL COMEBACK!!!!!!!!
Thankyou so much for reading! <3

" I don’t think I'm generous but I do think that I'm thoughtful" yess and that's how majority of people should be .
Complementing and praising the right thing is so important. I love appreciation and a bit of positive criticism too.
